iCAUR 03T for Malaysia: what’s confirmed, what’s rumoured
A clear separation between the official Malaysian preview, China’s electric 03T and the range-extender report now attracting attention across the region.
The short answer
Malaysia has officially previewed the 03T, but iCAUR Malaysia has not published a Malaysian launch date, powertrain, price, variant list, homologated range, charging speed, warranty or specification.
The model appeared alongside the 03 and V23 at Malaysia Autoshow 2025. The display was a left-hand-drive vehicle wearing iCAR branding, and the official Malaysian release described all three preview models as fully electric.
A related JAECOO 6T REEV officially launched in Thailand on 29 June 2026. OMODA & JAECOO Thailand lists the 2WD combined range as up to 800 km, while Autolife Thailand’s pre-launch report describes the manufacturer claim as up to 800 km combined NEDC range. This is Thailand-only regional evidence, not a Malaysian iCAUR 03T specification or powertrain confirmation.

What Malaysia has officially confirmed
iCAUR Malaysia’s official launch release says the brand made its Malaysian debut at Malaysia Autoshow 2025 and previewed the 03, 03T and V23 ahead of their official launches.
The same release labels the three preview vehicles as fully electric and notes that they were left-hand-drive units carrying iCAR branding. It gives the 03T a short positioning line, calling it an “urban commander”, but it does not publish a Malaysian 03T powertrain, battery, range, charging speed, price, warranty or launch date.
This distinction matters because the release includes detailed figures for the iCAUR 03. Those figures belong to the 03 and must not be reused as confirmed 03T specifications.
What China’s electric iCAR 03T tells us
The official China iCAR 03T product page and official China owner manual (Chinese PDF, about 229 MB) establish that a pure-electric 03T exists for that market. They provide a useful picture of the model’s design and equipment direction, not a Malaysian specification sheet.

Could Malaysia’s 03T be the REEV version?
OMODA & JAECOO Thailand’s official launch release says OMODA & JAECOO Thailand officially launched the JAECOO 6T REEV in Thailand on 29 June 2026. It says the engine functions solely as a generator and does not directly drive the wheels; it also lists a 33.67 kWh battery, up to 100 kW DC charging, up to 190 km electric-only and up to 800 km combined for the 2WD model, and up to 160 km electric-only and up to 750 km combined for the 4WD model. This is official Thailand-market evidence, not confirmation of a Malaysian iCAUR 03T powertrain or specification.
Paultan’s report asks whether Malaysia could follow Thailand. That Malaysia question remains speculation, and iCAUR Malaysia has not confirmed a local REEV powertrain.
Autolife Thailand’s pre-launch report identifies the four range figures as NEDC and reports a factory-claimed 30-80% in 20 minutes. It is retained for those points because the official launch release does not state the range cycle or charging time.

The range figures Malaysians will notice
Factory-claimed NEDC figures for the related Thailand-market JAECOO 6T REEV. They are not Malaysian iCAUR 03T specifications, and real-world range will vary.
The official Thai launch release lists a 33.67 kWh battery and up to 100 kW DC charging. Autolife Thailand’s pre-launch report gives the factory-claimed 30-80% in 20 minutes. Real-world range and charging vary with speed, traffic, temperature, terrain, payload, battery condition and charging conditions.
The REEV possibility is a sourced rumour worth watching. It stays outside the Malaysia column until iCAUR Malaysia confirms the local powertrain.
Why Malaysian drivers care about the mileage
Daily driving could remain mostly electric
A claimed 160-190 km electric-only range could cover many daily routines before the generator is needed. Actual results would depend on traffic, speed, weather, terrain, payload and charging habits.
Longer trips could need fewer charging stops
A claimed 750-800 km combined figure suggests more flexibility, but NEDC is a laboratory cycle. It is not a promise for a Malaysian interstate journey.
Combined range is not zero-emission range
A REEV still uses petrol when its generator is operating. The combined figure therefore answers a different question from electric-only range.
The ownership calculation is still missing
Fuel consumption, usable battery capacity, service needs, road tax, insurance treatment and warranty remain unknown for any future Malaysian version.
Until those figures exist, it would be misleading to estimate Malaysian fuel cost, charging cost or specific Melaka-to-destination trip counts.
Malaysia watchlist
What remains unconfirmed for Malaysia
- Whether Malaysia will receive a BEV, REEV, both, or neither version of the 03T.
- Launch timing and local assembly status.
- Local 2WD or AWD variants and their power outputs.
- Battery capacity, usable capacity, test-cycle range and charging curve.
- Fuel tank and fuel consumption if a REEV arrives.
- Price, warranty, service schedule, road-tax treatment and final equipment.
- Right-hand-drive production specification and Malaysian homologation.
