iCAUR V23 in Malaysia: CKD, CBU and buyer checks
Check the exact Malaysian V23 variant before comparing assembly origin, battery, charging and everyday fit.
The Malaysian V23 to compare
The current Malaysian V23 brochure covers the dual-motor iWD. Keep that separate from older CBU 2WD listings when you compare cars.
Checked on 31 October 2026, this is a brochure-based buyer guide, not a club road test. The July 2026 Malaysian brochure is the specification reference; it does not establish every used or imported V23’s equipment.
V23 CKD vs CBU: compare the exact variant
CKD means locally assembled; CBU means fully imported. iCAUR Malaysia’s 24 July 2026 announcement invited drivers to compare locally assembled and imported V23s side by side. It confirms both existed, but does not list every production change.
The current brochure lists iWD only. An earlier CBU 2WD advert is a different drivetrain reference, not evidence that a CKD V23 has the same battery or charging limit. Ask for the assembly origin, exact variant, manufacture date and registration date on the vehicle documents.
Do not assume CKD means a larger battery or better range. For mirrors, tyres and accessories, inspect the particular vehicle and its written equipment list. Existing CBU owners can check the separately sourced V23 mirror-upgrade announcement; it does not establish a universal recall or free replacement.
Battery, charging and range
The brochure lists an 81.76 kWh NMC battery, 430 km NEDC range, 155 kW / 211 PS and 292 Nm for the iWD. Maximum charging ratings are 6.6 kW AC and 104 kW DC.
NEDC is a laboratory test cycle, not a promised distance for a Melaka–KL trip. The DC maximum is not the average power over an entire stop. Use BOXR’s V23 battery and charging guide for the variant differences and V23 official-range and trip-planning guide for official figures and trip-planning limits.
For your budget, work through the Malaysia charging-cost guide with your own tariff and consumption. A larger battery alone does not tell you the cost per kilometre.
Check the fit for your routine
The V23 brochure lists a 4,220 mm body length, 1,915 mm width, 1,845 mm height and a 234-litre boot with five seats in use. Check your parking clearance and bring your normal luggage. Dimensions and litres cannot tell you whether your own bags fit.
The listed 21-inch iWD tyres are 265/45 R21. Get a replacement quote for that exact size when working out ownership costs. Sit in the driving position and check the 15.4-inch central display, visibility and control reach for yourself.
If the 03 is also on your list, use the 03 vs V23 Malaysia comparison. It focuses on parking, luggage and charging rather than choosing a winner from styling.
Before deciding
- Match the car’s documents to the variant and assembly origin being advertised.
- Ask for the warranty booklet and terms tied to its registration year. CKD or CBU alone is not a warranty entitlement.
- Ask for the required maintenance schedule and a written quote for the work due. BOXR’s service-cost and maintenance guide explains what to check.
- Check luggage access, seating and your charging plan using your normal routine.
Sources and limits
